FM-10Anti-Slip
Anti-Slip Mats for Welding & Fabrication Areas
Welding and fabrication floors get slippery — grinding dust, oil, coolant and water all reduce grip. Anti-slip matting improves footing in these areas using textured and drainage surfaces.
In a hot work area, the surface also needs to suit sparks and heat, so pair slip resistance with a fire-resistant grade where hot work happens nearby.

Improved grip
Textured and drainage surfaces for dust, oil and coolant.
Hot-work aware
Pair with fire-resistant grades where sparks are present.
Edge ramps
Available to reduce trip risk at mat edges.
Matched to the floor
Surface profile suited to your specific contaminant.
Anti-slip matting in fabrication areas
Fabrication and welding floors collect grinding dust, oil, coolant and water, all of which reduce grip. Anti-slip matting uses textured surfaces, raised profiles or drainage holes to improve footing and move contaminants away from underfoot.
Slip resistance and hot work together
Where grinding or welding happens, slip resistance has to coexist with spark and heat exposure. Near hot work, choose a fire-resistant or flame-retardant grade with a slip-resistant surface rather than a standard mat that could scorch.
How to choose
- Identify the contaminant — dust, oil, coolant or water.
- Pick a drainage profile for wet or oily floors, textured for dry dust.
- Near hot work, confirm a fire-resistant grade.
- Add edge ramps in high-traffic or wheeled areas.
Anti-Slip Mats for Welding & Fabrication Areas — questions
Honest answers specific to this matting type.
01What anti-slip matting suits a welding or fabrication floor?
Choose a surface matched to the contaminant — drainage for oil and coolant, textured for grinding dust — and, near hot work, a fire-resistant grade. Tell us what’s on the floor and whether sparks are present and we’ll recommend.
02Can anti-slip matting be used near welding sparks?
Only if it’s a fire-resistant or flame-retardant grade. Standard anti-slip mats can scorch or melt near sparks. Keep slip resistance and spark resistance together in hot work areas.
03Does anti-slip matting remove slip risk?
No mat removes slip risk entirely. It reduces risk when correctly chosen, installed and maintained, alongside cleaning and good housekeeping. Keep surfaces clear and replace worn mats.
